The biggest problem why people can't make money online is because they don't understand the concept of online credibility. In order to be successful in making money online you have to market yourself and not the product/service you represent.
Marketing online is a little different than off line. The reason is because no one knows who you are. If you want to get known on the internet then you have to show people you know what you are talking about and gain their trust. If you stop and think for a minute, why would anyone trust you? Building a relationship with people will help you get recognized as a trust worthy person. We call this building a credibility ranking and right now you have zilch. On the internet you are a nobody and no one cares about your products.
So... what is credibility ranking?
Think of credibility ranking on a points scale. Every time you help someone you get a point. every time you post something on a blog you get 2 points and when you write an article that helps another you get 4 points. The more you help the higher your ranking gets. The higher your ranking the more people will look at you as a reliable source. Credibility Ranking is nothing more than creating relationships with others so that they trust you and will follow you no matter what.
How do you build your credibility ranking?
First, you want to provide valuable information that will help solve other peoples problems. People go to the internet to find solutions. The more problems you solve the higher your credibility ranking grows. If you look at Dr. Phil he makes 400 times more than a psychologist at his level in his profession. Why? Because he understands the importance of building credibility by providing valuable information that solves peoples problems. If you want people to know you then you have to provide information that is unique and helps others instead of always asking people to empty their pockets.
You can do this by writing articles, blogs, creating hubpages and asking questions on forums and social networks. When your not writing ask questions and learn something. The more you learn the more you can share what you have learned to others.
People are surprised when I tell them that I don't buy leads or make cold calls and I get prospects to buy from me all because I provide solutions. I am in the business of solving peoples problems.
